September 2015 Monroe Updates

Good Morning Brothers,

I hope everyone is getting their hunting gear aired out, cleaned up and ready to go. I keep hearing the count down from everyone, please stay safe and enjoy the hunt.

The next 2 Wednesdays at Monroe Lodge are Fellowship nights, these dates are Wednesday, Sept. 23 and Wednesday, Sept 30.

Our next big event will take place on Saturday, October 3rd. We will serve Breakfast from 7am-10am, don’t forget to come on in for a great morning start!

After that we are going to do a day long donation collection from 10am-7pm. We will open the parking lot for overflow parking at the Monroe Comic-con that takes place next door. We need volunteers! If you can spare a few hours on this day please come help raise money for the Lodge. All we will ask for is a donation to park from those who will visit the convention center next door to Monroe Lodge. If you can help please call, text or email me so I can add you to our list of volunteers.

September 2015 Monday Updates

Where did the time go?? I hope everyone had a relaxing, enjoyable summer. We are, once again, getting back to work! I am thrilled to be getting back to lodge duties and setting up the exciting events that are to come.

Wednesday, September 9th at 7pm is our Business Meeting, dinner will start at 6pm. There are some great opportunities being brought up during New Business, we have time to plan so I know these will be an awesome benefit for the lodge.

Wednesday, September 16th at 6pm will be our Temple Board meeting. We had the parking lot resurfaced 2 weeks ago, it looks great all due to the work of the Temple Board. Thank you!

Upcoming events to remember:

Wednesday, October 14th is our Wild Game Dinner and Camo Night Business Meeting. Empty out those freezers and cook it up at lodge so you have room for this years hunt. Anyone who has camo is welcome to wear it this night to celebrate hunting season. (Face paint optional)

Wednesday, October 21st at 6pm we will have an Awards Dinner with the Awards Ceremony to follow. We will honor those Brothers who have 25years, 50 & 60years, also Lifetime Member awards and Mason of the Year award. Don’t miss out on this great chance to congratulate these Brothers who have supported Masonry for so long.

Funeral Visitations

Brothers,

Worshipful Brother Gene Campbell’s father-in-law passed away yesterday. He will be laid out at Capaul Funeral Home in Ida (8216 Ida West Road) on Friday from 12 – 8pm. Mass will be held around 7pm. Funeral will be held Saturday. Full arraignments will be in tomorrow’s paper if anyone is planning to attend.

August 2015 Lodge Announcement

Hope everyone is enjoying a good summer. I wanted to remind everyone that this Wednesday, August 19th at 5pm is Lodge Clean Up. We will dust, vaccuum and prep everything for the opening. Pizza will be provided so come down, help keep Monroe Lodge looking great and spend some time with the Brothers.

June 2015 Weekly Updates

This week at Monroe we start out on Tuesday, June 9th at 6:30pm we will do a funeral service for Brother David Whitman at Rupp Funeral Home. Please arrive 15-20 minutes early to dress and be prepared to line up. We have limited time available to do the service.

Also, Tuesday after the funeral the Chapter and Council Meeting at Monroe will begin late. 7:15 – 7:30ish. Dinner is cancelled, but refreshments will be available after the meeting concludes.

Wednesday, June 10th is our Regular Communication, Dinner at 6pm and meeting starts at 7pm.

Saturday, June 13th is Widow’s Night at Monroe Lodge. Dinner starts at 6pm with entertainment afterwards. Suit and Tie required, this is a formal celebration for our widows who have supported us in all our endeavors. Let’s have a great show of support for them and Monroe Lodge.

Hello Brothers,

I apologize for this coming so late in the week, but I have a plate full this week and need a bigger plate. (anybody have one?)

Tonight at Monroe is Fellowship. Come in and relax with the Brothers. Play cards and have a laugh.

Saturday we have 2 events, from 7am – 10am is Country Breakfast at Monroe Lodge. Mmmm Mmmm Good! Bring a friend, neighbor or stranger because the food is good and the atmosphere is better than Bob Evans 🙂

Also Saturday we have a Child ID Program from 12pm – 4pm at the Newport Fireman’s Park. Located at 9005 Brandon Rd. Newport, MI 48166. Please, let Worshipful Brother Jason Gribble know if you can attend this event. His number is 313-215-4460. We need every Brother we can get.

Wednesday, June 10th is a Business Meeting at 7pm, Dinner at 6pm.

May 2015 Weekly Update

Hello Brothers,

I hope everyone enjoyed a great weekend with family, friends and good food. I sure did. Got back last night so today I’m doing the weekly Monroe address.

This week (actually tomorrow) Wednesday, May 27 at 7pm we will proudly bring 2 candidates into Masonry. It’s always exciting doing degree work. I enjoy it and I know my Officers do as well. I hope everyone calls a Brother and brings him down tomorrow for a fantastic night of degree work and fellowship.

Looking to the future by a few weeks, mark your calendar for the night of Saturday, June 13 starting at 6pm we will have dinner and entertainment for the Widow’s of Monroe Lodge 27. It is always a pleasure to have these ladies at lodge and share an evening with them. Most of their husbands were Worshipful Master at one time. It will, once again, be a great night.

Put some aloe on those sunburns and dust off those ties, tomorrow night we go to work.

Hello Brothers,

I just want to start out by thanking Monroe 27’s delegate for being at the Grand lodge session today. As committed as we all try to be, family matters do need attended to.

I also want to thank our tech specialist at CainTech Services for quickly attending to my ailing computer and getting me back up and running. Should be smooth sailing from here on out.

This week at Monroe is fellowship on Wednesday, May 20th. The following week we will perform 2 Entered Apprentice degrees on Wednesday, May 27th starting at 7pm. Highly looking forward to bringing these 2 gentlemen into the Fraternity of Masonry.

I hope everyone is doing well, enjoying this weather and staying safe. I will see you all at Lodge!

May 2015 Monday Updates

I hope everyone enjoyed the weather this past weekend. This was our gift for all that cold we endured the last 11 months! (it felt that long to me)

This week Wednesday, May 6th at 6:30pm Monroe Lodge will host a “Bragging Rights” Euchre Tournament. There is no entry fee, no grand prize, just Bragging Rights.

This is open to all players. There is no pressure on whether you’re “good enough”, “too good” or “not allowed back to Vegas”. Come on in for a good time and bring a traveling partner with you. This is a great chance to grab your wife, neighbor or anyone who likes to play Euchre.

Next week Wednesday, May 13th at 7pm is our Regular Communication. Dinner starts at 6pm, make sure you put your name on the list if you’re going to sit down to eat, officers bring a dessert.

March 2015 Monday Updates

Hello Brothers!

Hope you all have everything strapped down these last few days, if not it’s more than likely down the road somewhere. I found my big bar-b-que grill twisted up 25 feet from where it was last used on my deck. It’s a Picasso now.

On top of that I have strep throat so I will not be at lodge this week. I do not want to pass this along. With that said, practice for this week will be cancelled. But please, study the book and brush up on ritual for our degree coming up on the 18th.

Wednesday April 1st will be a Fellowship Night. Enjoy some Euchre and fun down at the lodge.

Saturday April 4th is our Country Breakfast from 7am to 10am. Can you smell the gravy yet?……I can!

This Sunday is Easter and I wish everyone and your family a happy and safe holiday weekend. Be careful in your travels.

Wednesday April 11 is our Business Meeting at 7pm. Dinner will start at 6pm.

I will see you all once I’m back on the healthy list.
