Hello Brothers,

Welcome to Spring! Even though it hasn’t stayed Spring-like weather, nonetheless it is officially Spring.

This week at Monroe we have Fellowship Night on Wednesday March 25th. Come on in between 6pm and 9pm to enjoy the company of your Brothers, share in a laugh and a good game of Euchre.

Important date……. Next week Wednesday, April 1st at 7pm is a Master Mason Practice. We will go through the first half a couple times without our books and get prompted where needed so come April 15th we will have everything memorized and running smoothly. Mark this date down, you do not have to dress up, it is only a practice.

Following that on Saturday, April 4th from 7am to 10am will be Monroe Lodge’s Country Breakfast. We had a great turn out last time with the weather getting warmer. Invite your family and friends to join you for a great meal and good times down at the lodge.

Mid March 2015 Monday Updates

Hello Brothers,

Tonight at 7pm will be Worshipful Brother Harold Whitman’s Masonic Service at Rupp Funeral Home located at 2345 South Custer Rd., Monroe.

Wednesday March 18th at 7pm we will have a Fellowcraft Degree performed by River Raisin Chapter 22 Royal Arch Masons of Michigan. The Red Coats do a great degree so stop by. We will have a Temple Board Meeting at 6pm prior to the degree.

I also would like to wish all my fellow Irish Brothers a happy and safe St. Patrick’s Day tomorrow! I know we will all be fine, it’s those “once a year” Irish people I worry about 🙂

March 2015 Funeral Service

Brothers,

It is with a heavy heart to inform you of the passing of Worshipful Brother Harold Whitman. He served Monroe Lodge 27 greatly as a Worshipful Master in 1993 and as Marshal almost every year of his Masonic life.

We will perform a Masonic Service at Rupp Funeral Home, 7pm Monday March 16th. If you will be in attendance please arrive 30 minutes early to get ready for the service. Officers wear your tuxedos.

Worshipful Brother Harold’s arraignments are Monday from 2pm til 8pm, Tuesday at 10am will be his memorial service at Rupp Funeral Home.

Hello Brothers,

With the sunshine and 20 degrees outside, today feels like spring. If only that were true!

This week at Monroe we will have Fellowship on Wednesday, March 4th. I’m all better and plan to be there to enjoy everyone’s company.

Saturday March 7th from 7am-10am is our Country Breakfast. Doesn’t that sound good right about now? It does to me.

Next week Wednesday we are hosting the Michigan Masonic Charitable Foundation presentation at Monroe. We will have dinner at 6pm and start the presentation at 7pm. This is an important event to attend. There are so many programs that the MMCF has to offer and only a few are known about. Tell a Brother to come on down with you and let’s get to know all that this great foundation has to offer.

February 2015 Weekly Update

Hello Brothers!

I missed sending this out yesterday, just been so under the weather I laid around all day sleeping on and off. I sincerely hope everyone is feeling well and staying warm. Whatever headcold strain I picked up will not be passed on to you guys, I’m staying home tomorrow to recoup and get ready for our busier weeks ahead.

Tomorrow: Wednesday, February 25th will be Fellowship Night. Let’s get enough guys down to lodge to have some good euchre games. We’ve had some great ones these last few weeks, let’s keep the fun rolling.

Next week Wednesday, March 4th will be another Fellowship Night. Saturday March 7th is our Country Breakfast from 7am – 10am.

I hope everyone is healthy and staying safe in this frigid cold that just wont let go of us this year. It’s bad when it hit 30 degrees and everyone came outside in t-shirts. It truly wont be long and this will all be gone and we can fire up the grill at lodge (and at home) to roast some burgers and dogs and soak up the sun.

With a sad heart I send notice of the passing of one of our widows and mother of Worshipful Brother Mike Walters. Katherine Walters passed away yesterday in her home.

The services will be held at Bacarella Funeral Home located at 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. Monroe, MI 48161. Visitation is Friday February 20 from 3pm – 8pm. Service is Saturday February 21 at 1pm.

Let’s remember our Obligation in our Brother’s time of need.
