This week at Monroe #27 April 22nd 2013

>
> Good evening Brothers. Here is what we have going on this week at Monroe #27. >
> Let me start off by thanking the six Brothers that showed up and participated in the Adopt-a-Highway cleanup on Saturday. We were able to work for a couple of hours and get at least a mile of the North bound lane of 75 picked up. We are hoping to have more of a turn out for the the July pickup date. We need to get the rest of the North bound lane completed and get started on the South bound lane. Ricky took some great pictures and posted them to our Facebook page. >
> This Saturday is our CHIP program that we sponsoring at the Monroe Mall for Celebrate Children Weekend. I know that Brother Sam Leach and Twila have been looking for volunteers to work this weekend. Set up is around 9:30 and it runs from 10:00 to 2:00. Even if you can only sacrifice one hour of your time, it would be greatly appreciated. The list I sent him last week was pretty thin. So, any thing that you can spare to help them out would be greatly appreciated. >
> This Wednesday will be fellowship. We do not having anything in the works for right now. Next month we will be preparing for the two/three possible EA degrees coming up. >
> Next Saturday we will be having our monthly Lodge Breakfast. I know that some of our volunteers will be out due to Turkey Season. If you are available to help out that morning, that would be great. >
> Lastly, Saturday was the last day to turn in your Candle Orders. If you have yet turned those into Mike Walters, please do so by Wednesday. >
> So, CHIP program this Saturday. See what you can do to help. Also, make sure you are wearing your Blue Shirts, >
> Have a great week.

Attention Fellowcraft Team April 2013

Good evening Fellowcraft team and second section of the MM degree team:

How many of you are available to go to Samaria Lodge No. 438 on Wednesday night?

If you are not able to attend or participate, please let me know ASAP. We will try to cover your parts. I also need to contact the Master at Samaria.

Have a great night,

This week at Monroe #27 April 2013

Good evening Brothers:

While I am watch the National Championship game, I will try to send out an email about this week. So, if this email doesn’t make complete sense, I am blaming the game.

We have a full docket scheduled for Wednesday. 6:00 Dinner.

At 7:00, while the lodge members go into their “quick” business meeting, our ladies will convene in the dining hall for a Candle Party hosted by Jackie Walters. This is our kickoff to our Spring fundraiser. The plan is to have the candles back before Mother’s Day.

We are in need of having as many Brothers participating in this as possible. I know that we have many things coming up this Spring and Summer that we will need the “expendable” income for. If you and your traveling partner are not able to attend this week, Jackie’s information is attached to this email. Contact her and she will be able to take your order over the phone or direct you on how you can place an order online.

Also, after the business meeting, we will be having out Adopt-a-highway safety meeting. We will also be setting up our date for our clean-up. The official clean-up timeline is next week.

So, with that being said, we have a lot to do this week. Hope to see full lodge room and dining hall Wednesday.

Diana Cupps funeral and more sad news

Worshipful Brother Dave Cupp’s wife, Diana Cupp, will start services with visitations Friday at Merkle Funeral Home.

Sadly, 24 hours after her untimely passing, her sister, Donna Lajiness passed away in her home.
Family says they dont think it was related to the passing of Diana, because she had been sick prior to the accident.

The full article is available in the Monroe Evening News. I read the Obituaries and they included the link to the sad passing away of Donna. Donna’s services will begin Friday at Rupp Funeral Home.

A day after Diana Cupp was killed in a car accident in front of Kroger, the family’s grief was compounded when her sister died.

#Donna Lajiness, the oldest of four, died in her home Wednesday, a little more than 24 hours after Mrs. Cupp was killed.

#Bubba Bezeau, who is married to another sister, Debi, said he does not believe the accident contributed directly to her death.

#She had been ill.

#“It’s rough but they’re fighting through it,” Mr. Bezeau said of the family. “Their mother (Mary Lajiness) is taking it pretty hard. She lost two daughters in 24 hours.”

#Mr. Bezeau said the funerals will be held on separate days. Ms. Cupp’s services begin with visitation Friday at Merkle Funeral Home and Ms. Lajiness’ services will be at Rupp Funeral Home in the coming days.

#“They’re doing as well as can be expected,” said Brian Merkle, owner of Merkle Funeral Home and a family friend. “They’re having a hard time right now.”

#Mr. Bezeau, coach of the Monroe High School baseball team, said he was impressed when he showed up for practice and saw the entire team standing in line waiting to greet him with hugs and handshakes.

#“That is one bunch of respectful kids,” he said. “It made me feel great.”

#Mr. Bezeau said he told the boys to be smart, don’t be afraid to ask for help if they ever need it and appreciate family and friends.

#“When they’re here, you gotta love ’em,” Mr. Bezeau said.

#Mr. Bezeau’s wife was at Kroger shopping and saw the accident that killed her sister. He said his wife is having a hard time with both losses so soon.

#“She just doesn’t know why it’s happening,” he said.

#As far as the teenager who is charged with causing the chase and accident, Mr. Bezeau said he hasn’t given him much thought.

#“I don’t have any feelings for him,” he said. “I just hope justice is true. He took a precious life away.”
